Fife Lake had a successful loon hatch this summer. One chick has survived and is still in the company of one parent. It still is in it's juvenile plumage and enjoying a quieter environment since the Labor Day exodus. Let's hope flight training goes well.

We experienced our first snow of the season on October 12, 2006.  We haven't seen the loons since the storm and are assuming that they are either hunkered down or have flown South for the winter season. We will keep you all posted.
